Subject: Voltmeter and flap position indicator installation in N35553, Redstone Arsenal US Army Flying Club

Dear Sirs,

I must compliment you in your very prompt and courteous response in sending the warrantee replacement flap position indicator. We are especially thankful of the generous donation of your new volt meter for us to evaluate. The aircraft in which both the flap position indicator system and the volt meter are installed is a 1968 C-172I with an Avion Research instrument panel (http://www.avion.com). This particular aircraft is the oldest model in our fleet, but it is hands down the most popular with the club members, flying and average of 69 hour per month. A definite part of the aircraft's popularity is due to the wonderful flap position indicator, a very well engineered gadget that was easy to install and rig. And a much needed replacement for those aging, finicky and expensive to repair old analog gauges.

I again thank you for the volt meter, it was very easy to install as was the flap position indicator. It is a nice addition to the instrumentation of this aircraft which does a lot of IMC flying. We would like to suggest however that it would be very nice if there were some way to be able to flush mount the instrument, IE a standard 2 1/4 " round hole.

The Redstone Arsenal Flying Activity is a U.S. Army flying club based on the Redstone Arsenal Army airfield, HUA. We are currently operating a fleet of 13 aircraft with an active membership numbering approximately 340 members. All of our maintenance is performed in house, including the Avion Research instrument panel installation in N35553, and the Visual Instruments Inc. instrument installations.
